The Basics
Each Open Call for Play Testing will come with more specifics for what we’re looking for, but the general expectations to sign up for consideration are as follows:
- That you are at least 18 years of age and are okay with playing a game that explores and contains mature topics such as Death, Rape (not depicted) and Abuse of Power.
- Have read any accompanying adventure prompts;
- Have reliable and consistent access to the internet and can guarantee showing up to the designated scheduling for the Play Testing;
- Be comfortable playing over microphone (no video);
- Not be a jerk. Seriously.;
- and Have access to a Discord.
You will also need to be willing to be cooperative and a team player as Ash and Flowers of Azraeém is a DM-less TTRPG and will therefor require the active involvement of all at the table to make a reality. We will be arranging each table at random so please do not register with a friend with the expectation that you will automatically be included within the same play test. Other things to consider before signing up:
- Are you comfortable with playing Theater of the Mind based adventures? While we are working on completing assets for the final game, they may not be ready at the time of Play Testing, though clear descriptions of environments and events will be.
- Are you comfortable playing with diverse group of people? While we will have table rules, we can’t guarantee that everyone will be of the same energy level and do expect everyone at the table to respect everyone’s boundaries and (realistic) expectations.
- Are you comfortable role playing? We do not expect you to do voices but we do expect you to have a basic understanding of your character and their motivations to help sure things keep moving.
- Are you comfortable with the idea of handling conflicts and combat? While the game is heavily story focused and driven, a core part of what will be play tested will be related to Combat and a number of Conflict Resolution based mechanics.
While neither Dre nor I will be role playing, Dre will be present at the time of each Play Test to not only take notes and feedback, but to also answer any questions or concerns that you may have at the time of play testing.
Signing Up
While we can’t guarantee exactly when Sign Ups will open, we will be sure to provide ample lead to give anyone who may be interested a fair chance to sign up before the window ends up closing. Please bare in mind that we cannot guarantee everyone an opportunity to Play Test. However, we will have plenty of opportunities down the line and will provide the option for you to be added to our mailing list to be notified of any future play tests.
