About Ash and Flowers of Azraeém

The World of Azraeém is nearing towards it’s Second Calamity for the modern world but the Third in it’s known history. The first two happened seemingly by chance but the Third is happening in a way that almost seems systematically by design (or at the very least as a result of systematic negligence). As a result, the signs of this new Calamity are significantly worse than what the world has ever seen causing such dramatic things such as:

  1. The resurgence of Lineages that the world has not seen in quite some time.
  2. The unprecedented and slow disappearance of the 12 Governors whose role is to teach everyone in Azraeém the fundamental lessons around Magic.
  3. And a massive flood of Magic that is readily available for anyone in Azraeém to use for their own means.

Queen Kuli – the daughter of the Puck King Salèn – is one of the few who have started to pick up on the signs but before she can propose any changes, she finds herself missing under mysterious circumstances. Despite this, she found a way to leave plans for her Changeling bodyguard Kellum in the situation that something dire has happened in order to find a way to not only help the Pucks survive what may be over the horizon, but to help all of Azraeém stop this impending calamity – as is true to her judicious nature.

Ash and Flowers of Azraeém is a Hopepunk Capsule Table-Top Role Playing Adventure that is Shakespearean inspired aiming to relish in prioritizing dynamic and lethal game play while offering players a chance to have a personalized experience as they play the role of a Vanguard – a Puck Court sanctioned Warrior whose job it is to find the root cause of the potential doomsday scenario so that it can be stopped. The game will be released in Three large chunks a.k.a Acts over an extended period of time, with the starting adventure and rules being made available independently as the rest of the Storied Adventure is being developed.

The Adventure will cover topics such as Abuse of Power in all it’s forms and is best suited for individuals who are comfortable with dissection and discussion of these kinds of topics.

There are currently 12 planned Pursuits and Lineages that will offer ample opportunity to customize your character while having various ways to not only help them be prepared for the adventure ahead but to also define the foundation and reason that brought them to being a Vanguard to begin with.

If you enjoy a great deal of camp with a healthy sense of humor to balance out heavier topics then this will likely be for you.

About The HUNT FOR THE RED DEVIL

Part of what we’re doing is writing 15 Short Stories that work as additional world building for those who are interested in learning about major events and NPCs before diving into everything. The Play Test will actually take place within one of the NPCs short stories – Savari – with all poignant moments in the campaign being considered canon regardless of how it pans out from play test group to play test group. For those who are interested, here’s a visual representation of the NPCs and stories in question, along with a rough outline breakdown for each of the individual short stories in order:

As a general note, dark colors are the short stories, lighter colors are when they show up in a supportive role in someone else’s story and mid-tones denote major activities that aren’t written about but are relevant to the main adventure. Below is a full breakdown of the general story line for each short story – including the short story that this Play Test is rooted in (The Price of Priceless Inspiration):

Each of these NPCs are major allies that will help with the final conflict in the Third Act – BEYOND THE VEIL OF SWANCOAST.

For more information around the kinds of features you’ll get access to, please check out our page on the Play Test Adventure and if you’re interested in reading what stories we’ve completed, you can check it all out on our Short Stories Page.

It must be noted that you are not playing a Vanguard in this adventure so you will not have access to all features that would be made available within the game because you are, after all, here to hunt The Red DevilNOT to save the world.
